A New Favorite!

A nice capture of my two guys!

And I realized that yes almost 2 months had passed and Justin needed a haircut. But before I ran out and got him one (2 weeks later). He went to school like this one day....

We warned him that kids might laugh at him and make fun of him but he said he didn't care he would just ignore them. He admits to taking them out after a few kids laughed at him.

Things found in my front yard

With conservation land behind the house we have seen a lot of wildlife nearby. [I am not counting the time that Jessica yelled a "Moose in the backyard" (I assumed a deer) grabbed my camera and upon arriving realized that she mistook some tree formation for a moose. In fact if you want to see Jessica's eye roll maneuver just look out the back window and yell "Moose!"]

BUT one time Jessica yelled "Deer!" and was right.

This guy went wandering by the house one morning before school- hello Mr Turkey!

Some Easter Fun

This year we signed up to do the Easter Egg Hunt in town. Every year I mean to sign the kids up and every year I forget. I finally remembered and as we arrived it is clear that they were some of the oldest kids there- oops too many years forgetting I think. When we arrived they had some games set up.

Because we registered online the kids got these VERY bright T-shirts! [amusing sidenote: Justin had his hand in front of his face and I told him to put his hand down- this is the result]

Then they released the Hounds!

The kids had fun but I don't think we will do it again next year.

After the hunt we returned home to make some fun Easter treats. Little Easter basket cupcakes. Jill was visiting this weekend so she helped too- the all green basket is Jill's doing because she is so "green".

I think I took pictures of eye dying- but I can't locate them right now. And I KNOW I didn't take any pics on Easter day of the kids in their dress clothes. Oh well, next year.

Letterboxing

At the beginning of March we had some nice weather and decided to take the kids out to do some letterboxing. We hadn't gone in almost year (we are determined to go more often this summer). We decided to do the Harry Potter themed trail at the park in our town. This tickled both the kids. Here is Justin during the stamping process.

Jessica's Birthday!

Well I am definitely behind. And since Jessica turned 9 over a month ago and you have yet to see any pics- I think that is proof.

On Jessica's actual birthday Grandmommy came up for dinner and we had Steak and homemade Mac n Cheese. Unfortunately I overcooked the steak so it was not as good as we would have liked. Then we had ice cream cake. I pulled out the candles and accidentally used the ones that keep re-lighting- oops.

The next weekend we had Jessica's birthday party for her friends. She chose to invite just a few friends and do a beading party. It was very nice. But first the cake! Jessica is into all things Pokemon and Bakugan these days- so her cakes were a Poke Ball (on the left) and a Bakugan ball (not a very good representation on the right).

We all headed out to the beading store. Each child got to make a necklace and a bracelet.

Olivia finished hers first so she went around and helped everyone else.

After beading we went back to our house for cake and pizza.
and... um... ooops.. same candles again!
This is our last year of single digits for her- gasp! She had a nice birthday and has a nice group of friends.
