Nice Weather

The weather has been unseasonably warm here this week. It even got into the 60s on Tuesday. So Justin and I went outside to play. It was very fun because we could just wear sweatshirts but still throw snowballs. Here is my little devil...

Nothing is funnier than trying to hit your mom holding a camera with a snowball...

and I LOVE this next picture. He tried to throw a snowball at me from around the corner of the PODS in our driveway. He totally missed but I screamed like he hit me. He bounded around the corner hysterical thinking he got me and 'click' I got that face.

Getting the house ready

As many of you know we are trying to get our house ready to go on the market. We had a stager come to the house last week. She gave us the bad, but not surprising, news that many of our rooms need painting. Our good friend Kris has come out for the week from Wisconsin to help us out. First up was the family room. We have never painted this room since we moved in. The pictures aren't great but they will give you a good idea. Note that in the before pictures the ceiling is the same color as the walls. Painting the ceilings took Kris a day and a half, never mind the three coats of paint to cover the dark trim colors. Pretty sure Kris will not be stepping a foot into our family room again- thanks Kris.

Here are the after pictures. Per the stagers suggestion we have moved some of the furniture around. We are loving the white ceiling, the room seems brighter and bigger.

Jessica's first Basketball Game

Saturday was Jessica's first basketball game. I had no idea what to expect, they were doing drills in practices but didn't seem to be working on any game play. So the game begins. They place the defense on their assigned spots and tell them to wave their hands in the air. They are not to move from their spot, they are not to try to steal the ball or really interfere much at all with the offense, just wave their arms- like sea monkeys. Next the offense comes down and they take their spots. One person bounce passes the ball and another player takes a shot. Then they run down and switch positions. After the first pass or two Marc and I looked at each other and burst out in laughter. Seriously, the funniest thing I have seen in awhile. Jessica took her sea monkey role very seriously, others began to slack but she had her hands in the air waving around.

Here are the coaches explaining the gameplan...

Jessica running fast, forgive the photography gym lighting is tough. Jessica told me later she thought the braids made her run fast and I needed to make sure she had braids every game.

Sea Monkey...
Working hard at our hand waving...

As usual she had a great time and really enjoyed herself. Can't wait to watch the next game tomorrow.

The reason for the New Blog

So here it is, the picture that made me realize I need to separate my family and pro pics. How could I possibly upload this picture next to those wedding pictures?? Our upstairs toilet needed to be replaced, which Marc did by himself- well done Marc! But what does one do with the old toilet? Well if you are Marc you incorporate it into your annual snow sculpture.

Want to know how to get rid of a toilet? Post it on Craig's List and tell them there is $5 hidden inside for whoever picks it up, broke guy needing gas money grabbed it the next day.

Congrats Michelle

Good Job Michelle! My friend Michelle came up with the new name of this blog. Hanna Palooza pulled out a narrow victory over Mwahahaha, over 130 votes were received- who knew I had so many readers :)

New Blog New Name

ok, I have been thinking about setting up two blogs. One for my professional pics and one for my family pics and news. I have a bunch of pictures of our family that I want to post but just haven't had to heart to put them up next to the recent session pictures. So as I go to start a new blog I realize I need a new name. Here is where you get to help me. Marc has come up with some names and Dee has contributed a few as well. I will list them, but I am more than willing to entertain other ideas as well. The new blog will be for the family news, this one will stay with the pro pics. Let me know in the comments area of this post what you think. And that way other people can see your idea too (so don't just email me your thoughts, take a second and leave a comment). The new blog will go up on Sunday or Monday- so hurry!
