Cape Cod!

So we went on our annual Cape Cod trip the second week in July. Bec's in-laws have a great house and so kind to let us all come crash for the week. In the past we have gone from Tues am- Friday lunch. This year due to our house trauma we didn't get there until Tues eve. Soon after we arrived we headed to Sheep Pond and this is what we looked out on- ahhhh.

This year we went to Linnell Landing instead of Breakwater Beach to enjoy the bay. We are in love and will go there MANY more times. The bay is so fun because when the tide goes out it goes OUT. The kids love playing in the low tide. What is fun is that there are lots of fun things going on- people playing wiffle ball, or Bocce, or flying kites, in addition to the usual fun beach things. Justin decided to lay down and make sand angels.

The kids did a lot of this...

Isn't she beautiful??

So here is the story on this next picture. You can't quite see it, but the man below has a fishing pole and is dragging a huge fish behind him. The kids ran over to see. Justin ran behind and kept splashing water on the fish- because fish need water. After the man pulled the fish up and was talking about making it his supper- Justin got suspicious. THEN when Justin took a better look at the fish with the hook- he looked at the man in horror and said, "you bleeded it!". A moment later the man asked Justin if he would hold his hat for a minute. Normally Justin would absolutely agree- he loves to help. But he turn his back and said, "NO" and walked away. He was not pleased.

Jessica was showing Justin how to "ride the waves" um, they were 6 inches high.

Oh look who else is enjoying the bay- me!

Another day Jessica kept digging these huge holes and more than once she found a clam!

We did hang at Sheep Pond too. There is a raft that the kids love to swim out to in order to play around.

In the past Jessica and Emma played a lot together and Jack and Justin did too. But Emma has begun to evolve into a tween- sigh. So she doesn't want to play the make believe games as often as the others. This meant that Jessica and Jack hung out a lot together- and many times Justin joined them- but sometimes Justin doesn't want to jump through the hoops that Jess and Jack set up for him to participate.

Here is a cute video of the two of them- I love Jessica's victory dance at the end (please note they are not really fighting it was all part of the "game"):

If the video doesn't work try this link.

It was a wonderful week and none of us wanted to leave at the end. I even ended up doing 2 photo sessions on the beach and I have received many more requests. So I think next year we will go for longer and I will put the word out to book some shoots. Thank you to Becky who took just about every picture in this post :)
