Vacation Week coming to an End

And we did NOTHING. Ugh. I had plans- really. I was going to be fun- I swear. We were going to go places and do things, but alas the FEVER had other plans. Jessica has had a fever since Tuesday. She has slept in my bed since Tuesday night as well- Daddy is upstairs in her room. We tried to kick her out tonight but alas the FEVER attacked again and she is back in our room. Luckily Justin seems to have escaped unscathed. Oh please oh please oh please don't let it hit him tomorrow and give me another week of doing nothing. I have felt most sorry for him. He is not sick but he has watched TV and played on the computer and gone nowhere all week (mind you he isn't complaining too much, he likes his TV and computer time). Of course he wants to know when it is his turn to sleep with Mommy.

The kids are on a huge Power Rangers kick right now. They watch new episodes every day and I rented a DVD from Blockbuster that they have watched over and over. On the bright side between Jessica's excellent reading skills and Justin vast knowledge and understanding of all things electronic they have throughly mastered the TiVO and DVD remotes. This means they really have no reason to wake us up until 9am or so when they get a little bored.

So unfortunately I have no pictures to post right now. The Dining Room is almost finished, just need to get the corner cabinet into the PODS as well as some boxes and then I can upload the before and after pics from there. Marc is hard at work on painting the bathroom and then all painting will be done. Then the really hard work of moving around furniture and cleaning up the basement and garage will begin-ugh. Tomorrow night is the Oscars so hopefully I will have some fun pictures from that to post. Until then, send positive non fever vibes our way!

Happy Vacation Week

Well it should be anyway. We had a couple of lazy days at home, the kids are thoroughly enjoying each others company these days so they didn't really want to do anything but play with each other. But we decided to get out today and DO things. Had a big day planned. Then Jess walked into our room in the middle of the night with a burning fever. All of our plans have been stalled. She has been generally miserable. Both kids in jammies, lots of TV watching today. Went out and rented Star Wars Episode I, because they have really wanted to see it. Here is Jessica.

And here is Justin.
I have tried to wake him up for 10 minutes. Shaking him, calling his name, kissing him and nothing, he just snores at me. I need to go up and try again. Wish me luck.

Just a couple of pics

Today was bring a friend day at gymnastics and Justin really wanted Brian to come with him. They both had a great time. Brian came back to our house to play and have lunch. The two of them had a great time and went off into their own Star Wars/ Lego world. Here is the one where they both agreed to look at the camera.
ah yes, who is a total PITA when it comes to having his picture taken?? yes you guessed it, Justin!
Tried to get a couple of Jess in her cow coat. She loves this coat. It is a hand-me-down from I don't even know who, but she LOVES it. This is the last season for it since it is getting a little small. Definitely going to get her another coat with fur trim on the hood- I love that look in pics.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Lego Boy

Justin does not play independently very well or very often. So when he does I try not to do anything to disturb the moment. In this situation before we went to school today he had dumped out a bunch of Legos at the top of the stairs and was playing so nicely that I decided to leave the Legos there in the hopes that he would pick up the game again when we returned home after school. Well he did for a few minutes. I was folding laundry in our room and I really wanted to try to take his picture. I knew I only had one shot at it since he would be on to me pretty quick.
True to form he was soon in the room asking me to play with him so I made him clean up the Legos first. Later in the day he did the same thing, dumped them all in the hall at the top of the basements stairs. For those of you that are familiar with our house there is no more trafficked area then this section of hallway- it kills me. Of all the places to dump hundreds of tiny pieces he picks here. He and Jessica were playing for 45 minutes before bed and we let them leave their creations out- in hopes they pick it up when they wake up and let us sleep- but we had them move the Legos first. If you hear I have broken a leg, there is a good chance I slipped on a Lego and fell down the stairs.

Trip to the Post Office

Justin's preschool had a field trip to the Post Office Today to mail their Valentines home. Since Justin and I are frequent visitors there he was greeted by name. First they got in line to buy their stamp.
Next they got to go in the back and cancel their stamp themselves.

Miss C, just chillin in Mrs. S's coat.

The last thing they did was climb into a mail truck and honk the horn!

Can't resist little girls in their fur lined hoods...

what would a field trip be without a pic or two of Miss A?

Funny Justin

Driving home from Gymnastics yesterday Justin was talking about drinking lemonade and we had this discussion:

J: Mommy do you like lemons?
M: Yes I do, but I like them in my food. I don't like to eat them straight.
J: Oh, do you eat them diagonal?

love that perspective- cracks me up.

Jessica on Voting

Yesterday was Super Tuesday. I voted yesterday and brought Justin with me. Marc waited and voted after dinner and asked if the kids wanted to go with him and they both did. This is the conversation we had as Jessica was getting her shoes on:

Jessica: is there a girl running?
Us: yes there is.
Jessica: ok, I think we should vote for her because a girl has never been president and I think it is time, don't you?
Us: the fact that the girl is doing so well makes us think that some day a girl will be president.
Me: Jessica I think in your lifetime a woman will be president. Maybe you can be president.
Jessica: (screws up her face) me? I don't think so.
Me: you don't want to be president?
Jessica: well... maybe I will.

And off they went to vote, Justin wearing his red power rangers costume. Jessica was very happy to hear that the girl won in Massachusetts.

Disney Princesses on Ice

Jessica and I went to see Disney Princesses on Ice yesterday. It seems they were having a hard time filling the seats on SuperBowl Sunday so they were selling the tickets 2 for $19. At that price, why not? We had a great time. Jessica loved every minute, she was facinated by how it all worked and was duly impressed by the various jumps and tricks. At intermission we moved across the civic center to go sit with Jenn and Lauren. Jessica announced that this even would make the best Weekend News ever! (she fills out a weekend news at school every week) That box in her lap was filled with popcorn, and that is why she never had dinner last night.

Cute New Do

Jessica was LONG overdue for a haircut. I had one scheduled for her a week or so before Christmas but it was on that day we got that afternoon snowstorm and the schools closed early. Decided it wasn't worth risking all of our lives to get her to a hair appointment. We went yesterday and she was very excited. She told the hairdresser she wanted 3 inches cut off- fine with me. I snapped a quick pic of her with the little camera on our way into Basketball practice. She loves it, couldn't stop admiring herself, cracks me up. Daddy does not like it, but there has yet to be a haircut that he liked so we don't really take his opinion into account very often. Here she is with her salon hair, no worries it is not the perfect anymore.
