Getting the house ready

As many of you know we are trying to get our house ready to go on the market. We had a stager come to the house last week. She gave us the bad, but not surprising, news that many of our rooms need painting. Our good friend Kris has come out for the week from Wisconsin to help us out. First up was the family room. We have never painted this room since we moved in. The pictures aren't great but they will give you a good idea. Note that in the before pictures the ceiling is the same color as the walls. Painting the ceilings took Kris a day and a half, never mind the three coats of paint to cover the dark trim colors. Pretty sure Kris will not be stepping a foot into our family room again- thanks Kris.

Here are the after pictures. Per the stagers suggestion we have moved some of the furniture around. We are loving the white ceiling, the room seems brighter and bigger.

wow - what a difference! Are you going to put the shelf back up? What about curtains? You made the ones that were in there, right?

Looks great!! I love the new trim. Nothing like putting the furniture back after a paint job and saying, "Aahhh..." :)
