Jessica's first Basketball Game

Saturday was Jessica's first basketball game. I had no idea what to expect, they were doing drills in practices but didn't seem to be working on any game play. So the game begins. They place the defense on their assigned spots and tell them to wave their hands in the air. They are not to move from their spot, they are not to try to steal the ball or really interfere much at all with the offense, just wave their arms- like sea monkeys. Next the offense comes down and they take their spots. One person bounce passes the ball and another player takes a shot. Then they run down and switch positions. After the first pass or two Marc and I looked at each other and burst out in laughter. Seriously, the funniest thing I have seen in awhile. Jessica took her sea monkey role very seriously, others began to slack but she had her hands in the air waving around.

Here are the coaches explaining the gameplan...

Jessica running fast, forgive the photography gym lighting is tough. Jessica told me later she thought the braids made her run fast and I needed to make sure she had braids every game.

Sea Monkey...
Working hard at our hand waving...

As usual she had a great time and really enjoyed herself. Can't wait to watch the next game tomorrow.
